Position Concept

Brigham's Taproom Room is seeking a skilled cook to join our team. Our cooks are responsible for preparing a variety of consistent, quality foods that require short preparation times. We pride ourselves on delivering food that is not only delicious but also meets high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quick and Hot Delivery:

  • Ensure food is consistently delivered quickly and hot to our patrons.

  • Food Safety:

  • Ensure all food is fully prepared and meets FDA requirements for proper food temperatures.

  • Communication:

  • Ability to read orders, understand instructions, and communicate effectively with fellow staff members.

  • Food Preparation:

  • Grill and garnish hamburgers or other meats such as sandwiches, pasta, and other menu items.

  • Grill, cook, and fry foods such as French fries, wings, and other menu items.

  • Perform simple food preparation tasks such as bagging French fries, hamburgers, and other menu items.

  • Timing Coordination:

  • Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time.

  • Cook foods requiring short preparation times, according to customer requirements.

  • Cleanliness:

  • Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables to maintain a hygienic environment.

Job Requirements

  • Customer Service Experience:

  • Previous customer service experience is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Attention to Detail:

  • A keen eye for detail to ensure all dishes meet our quality standards.

  • Steady Hand:

  • Ability to handle knives and other kitchen utensils safely and effectively.

  • Physical Stamina:

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs as needed during food preparation and kitchen maintenance tasks.​

Servers

Responsibilities

A Restaurant Server, or Server, is responsible for bringing food and beverages to dine-in customers seated in their section at a restaurant. Their duties include writing down each customer’s order, submitting it to the kitchen, and bringing out the correct dishes and beverages to each diner.

​

Here are some examples of a Restaurant Server’s typical responsibilities:

​

  • Welcoming and seating diners comfortably in the dining section

  • Taking customers’ food and drink orders

  • Collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders

  • Memorizing the menu and recommending appetizers, meals, and drinks from the restaurant wine stock

  • Delivering a memorable dining experience by resolving all customer issues promptly

  • Assisting with the tidying of tables, clearing leftovers, and keeping the dining area neat and pleasant

  • Setting tables and rearranging the dining area to accommodate larger groups and prepare the restaurant for special events

  • Ensuring cooking utensils and the kitchen area are cleaned after closing to comply with state regulations

  • Clean up after customers and complete side work​

​

Qualifications

  • Must be 19 years old

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs

​
